HARASSMENT: IDI-OSE ARIBIDESI COMMUNITY CAUTIONS CUSTOMARY LAND OWNERS.

Landlords at Idi-ose Aribidesi community, along Jebba Express Road, Okolowo in Ilorin South Local Government of Kwara State, has cautioned the customary land owners of Idi-ose  Aribidesi community to stop harassment and intimidation on landlords.

This was contained in a press statement jointly signed by the Chairman of landlord association in the community, Alhaji Abdulateef Olanipon and the secretary, Alhaji Daud Kajola which was made available to newsmen in Ilorin.

The statement said that using of dangerous weapons by hired thugs to attacks innocent residents in the community has become rampant in recent times.
The statement explained that sponsored thugs in their large numbers  violently stormed the community to disturb the bricklayers  working on the site, claiming that the lands has been reclaimed by the customary land owners for reselling.
 It's said the plots of land was legally acquired by the landlords which was  allocated to each beneficiaries since 2007 from Ilorin south local government authority, after the payment.

It was gathered the entire Idi-ose Aribidesi land was acquired by Ilorin south local government from lands ancestor family in 2007 and compensations was fully paid to all families concerned.

"It was a surprised that Ologede family who had been earlier compensated by the local government for acquired lands can later come back after many years with thugs to destroyed our fence and beacons erected on the land for the purpose of reclaiming the same lands that was legally sold out with genuine documents.

 The statement lamented that the thugs beaten and wounded people sighted on the site and stopped all construction works on the lands without showing court order or town planning authority.

The statement further said members of the community are law abiding citizen who don't want to take law into their hands, who always ready to give peace a chance in the area for the progress and development of the community.

"We are appealing to Ologede family, the ancestor claimer of the lands to stop intimidating the residents and land owners,we urged them to channel their grievances if any to the appropriate authorities concerned.

 "We therefore, called on the peace loving Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq who have zero tolerance for thuggery, indiscipline and any forms of cheating to urgently steps into the matter before further damage could be done to lives and property", statement pleaded
