The Kwara State Government will not henceforth accommodate any new entrant into the state.

The Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi made this known while meeting with the leadership of Hausa community in his office on Monday.

Mr. Alabi who is also the Chairman, Covid-19 Technical Committee, stated that some of the COVID-19 index cases recorded in kwara were non-residents intercepted by security personnel on their transit to the state.

He urged the executive members of the community to educate their people on the danger of the pandemic, advising them to stay anywhere they are until after the pandemic.

He added that the virus does not show on faces and the moment a carrier mingles with others in the community as the virus spreads like bush fire.

He stressed that government will not allow any visitor to enter into the state except those on essential services or those granted special permissions to avoid transmission of the disease.

Earlier in her address, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajia Aisha Ahman-Patigi said the state government can not effectively address the influx of migrants without involving Hausa community.

She said "When there is pandemic in any community, everyone should remain where they are".

She urged the Hausa community to cooperate with the kwara state government in the fight against COVID-19.

While responding, the Deputy Serikin Hausawa  Kwara State chapter, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman, who represented the Seriki Hausawa, appreciated the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his efforts in prevention of spreading of the virus.

 He pledged the cooperation and the support of his people in its resolve to eradicate  the disease in the state, appreciating the state government for the palliative given to Hausa community residing in the state.
