Lack of buildings plan approval, bane of flooding -lawmaker.

The member representing Share/Oke-Ode Constituency in Ifelodun Local Government at the Kwara State House of Assembly Hon. Owolabi Olatunde Razzaq has agitates for thorough consultation from a professionals surveyor before they could build any house across the state. 

Owolabi who is the Chairman House Committee on Health and Environment made this call while speaking with news men in Ilorin recently, disclosed that many people don't care for town plan before starting their building.

According to him, Many countries un like Nigeria who don't normally consulted the professionals before embarking on any building but for other countries, they would have to goes through many process before they could get approved for the plan of the building structures, but in Nigeria they would just approve the planning without considering any future problem, even if its situated around the river banks that every raining season it would be affected”.
He charged kwarans to always consult the professionals in the field before embarking on any building plan of any house and they should try and start the foundation with concrete if its sited at a floors or river area.
 The legislature urged the society to try and cooperate with the Town planning officers and other consultant for the benefits of all and at the end of the day there won't be any problem or in the nearest future.
He thanks Allah for given kwarans Alhaji Abdulraman Abdulrazaq has the present Governor who always stays and ready to work for the poor masses, nothing that he has been putting more efforts to ensure the kwara is floods disasters control free and committed to the protection of lifes and properties of all kwarans.
His words, Governor Abdulrahman has visited some floods affected areas to sympathized with them and assuring them of government intervention and relive materials to easy their hardship and condition, pointing out that the house that was affected in Unity, near O'ride office was because of People's ignorance and stubbornness.

Owolabi lamented that though Government alone cannot do everything for the populace in reducing or eradicating the floods disaster, rather kwarans should Joins hand with the Government in solving and implementing the proposed bill into laws.
