Agbede Community demands for social amenities

The Magaji of Agbede Community in Moro Local Government area of Kwara State, Mallam Haruna Aweda has cries out to the government to intervene in providing social amenities to the community.

The village head made this appeal while speaking with National Moonlight Reporters said that the community lacked many social amenities.

According to him, “our major problem at our community is unstable and epileptic power supply which has put the residents in total frustration due to the long time darkness.

The residents of the community majorly are students of the kwara state polytechnic which came from far and near states to acquired knowledge in our state, they need to live comfortably in a peaceful learning environment.

He added that the government should provides stable electricity for the community to better the living condittion of residents especially students, pointing out that this will make their reading more easier.

“The students residing in the community usually come to register their complains about poor condition they are living in the community.

" No good roads to link-up the community to others communities in the state which is to benefits the masses if it was upgraded, it would also improve the economics activities of the area”.

Aweda further added that the community is in need of polling booth to cast and participates effectively in every election to perform their civic duty, pointing out that Agbede community is one of fast growing areas in kwara state with increasing population on daily bases.

He explained that, “the only available polling unit in the area in the community is that of Elekoyagan Primary school and is far from Agbede community, my people finds it difficult and stressful to go far distance to cast their votes.

"I am pleading with the INEC and the state government to includes our community in their planed of creating additional polling units across the 16 local government of the state”.

The village head commended the efforts of the Kwara State Government under the leadership of Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq for his wonderful achievements within his short period in office, appreciating him on his commitments and his tireless efforts on the improvement of Kwarans welfare.

 Also in his reaction, one of the residents of the community, Mr. Imam Idris Isiak, disclosed that the community needs electricity transformer to regulate the current epileptic power supply experiencing by thea people living in the area, nothing that different communities like Lajolo, Oke-oyi and others are using the same obsolete transformer.

He revealed that the community needs proper drainages to control floods and erosion and prevent the  community from over flooding incidents, saying lack of health care center is also one of the challenges that facing the community.

Isiak noted that the community would be grateful if government listened to them and considered their request and provides for them with health care center for the benefits of all.

In his contribution, a trader in Community Abdullateef Zainab lamented the poor epileptic power supply and water scarcity in the community which are mostly important to the life of human, attributing the poor electricity to the backwardness of her business and also dragging the community lower level.
