PDP Adewole Ward cries over political marginalization

…Rubbishes Abdulrahman’s chances

By Rasaq Mariam

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Adewole Ward in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State has appealed to the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and the leadership of the party to reconsider zoning formula.
This was disclosed in a press statement jointly signed by the chairman of the party in the ward, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Eleran and liaison officer to the senate president, Mallam Wasiu Olobi and made available to National Moonlight yesterday.

The release said zoning arrangement should be adopted because it has been in existence since the era of late political idol, Dr Olushola Saraki, stressing that it should be strictly adhered to for the continuous harmonious co-existence of all.
“Adewole Ward is hopeful that since we are part of a well-structured Saraki dynasty under the leadership of the Senate President, our right will be adequately protected and guaranteed. The nomination of State House of Assembly flag bearer for our great party, (PDP) in the 2019 election without doubt and the slot is our turn.

“Adewole Ward had over the years respected Saraki decisions and believe on the words of our leader promises. During the nomination of candidates in 2014, our ward was pleaded to allow Oju-Ekun/Sarumi ward to nominate the present Honourable member of the State House of Assembly, North West Constituency.
“This was done with the gentle man agreement that since Alanamu had occupied the seat for eight years (Hon. AbdulWahab Kayode Omotoshe), the slot would automatically be given to Adewole ward and it is a well-known fact in the constituency. That was popular even before this period.

“We are hopeful that your Excellency would come to our aide as we strongly believe that our ward had paid the political dues and can’t be marginalized by Alanamu ward especially at this period when Adewole had a critical task at hand following the nomination of an indigene of Adewole ward as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (PDP), though he is not a threat because we have always rendered him irrelevant politically” the statement added.
They however cleared airs on the rumour of their ward planning to vote for the APC gubernatorial candidate due to the nomination of AbdulRahman Abdulrasak, saying that it is a political lie which holds no water and can never be relied upon.

“Adewole Ward remain committed to the Saraki dynasty and would go all out anytime to uphold the success recorded in previous election” it said.
