Kaiama LG Chairman condemned gunmen’s attack on Woro community

…charged inhabitants to be more security conscious

The Chairman Kaiama Local Government area of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdullah Bata has urged the people of the Local Government to be more security conscious and vigilant while carrying out their daily activities across the villages and community of the area.

Bata made this call during his visit to Nuku, Woro Village where gun men attacked and killed many people, assuring the people of the area, government’s readiness to protect and bring the suspected perpetrators to book.
He stressed that the security of Nigeria is a collective responsibility of every citizens irrespective of religion or tribe, pointing out that the government would strengthen the local vigilante groups to a standard level.

He urged them to continue with their normal business within the villages and should be more conscious of any strange person or vehicle in the area.
The chairman condole the people of the area over the death of their people and commend them for maintaining peace during the incident, calling on the traditional rulers in the area to work for the security and protection of their area.
Bata commended the state government for the quick attention given to the incident by deploying the team of security men to the area to restore normalcy back to the area, describing the Governor as a listening man who proven to justify the state’s slogan as ‘Harmony’.

It was revealed that the suspected gunmen have relocated to another area in the Local Government because those staying around Kemaji a Border village are also complaining and reported that the unknown gun men are possibly hiding inside the game reserve forest which was said to be some kilometers to Kemaji.
The men of the Nigeria army promise the LG that they would fish out the suspects as they have since ambushed the National Park Game Reserve Forest where they have turned into the hideout.
