"Baba Saraki taught us that politics is about the people and not about politicians. He's an embodiment of politics of inclusivity, and was closer to the people, the masses than the politicians", the governor said.

Speaking on the theme of the lecture: "National Unity and the future of Nigeria", the governor said only an inclusive system which provides a sustainable platform for equity and justice, move the majority of Nigerians to the middle-class and exploring our perceived differences as sources of strength can guarantee a secured future for the nation.

Earlier, the guess lecturer, Amb. Sen. Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher said Nigeria should borrow a leave from the industrious nature of the Igbo, the religious tolerance and lust for education from the west and ethnic tolerance and perseverance from the north to ensure a better and more united Nigeria.

In his address of welcome, Prof. Ango Abdullahi said Dr Olusola Saraki formed the Northern Union with other members in 2007 to fight third term agenda. He urged the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and his siblings  to ensure the survival of the union.
