Queen School, I.G.S, G.S.S, others benefit from Saraki

…as 109 communities benefit from motorized boreholes

In order to attain good level of learning and teaching in our society, the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has fulfilled part of his campaign promises to the people of his constituency, by providing an enabling environment, teaching and learning equipment to enhance quality learning across the Kwara Central Senatorial District.

Saraki who since his inception of office has been intensifying efforts on how the life of his people would be more meaningful and comfortable through series of development programmes across the four local governments that make the district, these include Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Asa and Ilorin South Local Government areas, ensuring that everyone benefited in one way or the other to ease the current hardship facing the poor masses.

The programme which was embarked upon by the Senate President, took another stride, when heads of secondary and junior secondary schools gathered at the ABS Constituency Office, Olorunshogo Area to witness another surprise package for their schools, these packages were sets of computers, generators and a full library materials for pupils and students of the society.

Addressing the beneficiary schools, the Director General, of the ABS constituency office, Hon. Wahab Oladimeji Issa, congratulated the beneficiary schools in the central senatorial district, charging them to maintain and use the equipment judiciously for the purpose they were intended.

He explained that the Senate President is a committed leader who wants and plans good for his people, saying knowledge is everything to him and that he so much values education, which is why he is trying to give out best, quality and meaningful learning equipment to the students.

The D.G also enjoined the heads of the schools across the Kwara central to see the program as an opportunity for their various schools, noting that without teachers nothing can be achieved, because teachers are the builders of any developed nation.

He described Saraki’s Dynasty inIlorin and Kwara State as a whole, as Allah’s gift and a help to the state in more ways than one, enumerating the constituency projects embarked upon in the last one year by the Senate President, Oladimeji said over 119 communities have so far benefited from motorized boreholes and 109 schools on schools programme.

Speaking earlier, the ABS Director of projects, Mr. Yinka Ibrahim, noted that there were many schools across the state that need one thing or the other, pointing out that this was captured from the schools’ data and working with the LGEA secretaries in the central district to know the lacks in various schools.

Mr Yinka also stressed that they found out that some schools lacked of infrastructure and there are no capacities for both students and teachers in many schools of the state, saying ten schools were presently working with solar power system with their computers through the benevolence of the Senate President.

He explained that the Senate President has more plans for his people in relation to sound and quality education and enabling learning environment on his education advancement programmes across the central district.

Responding on behalf of all the heads of beneficiary schools, the principal Oke-Adinni Secondary School, Alhaji Mohammed Bello thanked the Senate President for his kind gesture, urging other senators and politicians to emulate the amiable Senate President, while he also prayed that Allah would continue protect him.

He advised the beneficiary schools to use the equipment as directed and for the purpose of the donor, saying they were all impressed with the ABS education programme, promising to watch over it and maintain the system and library materials from the office.

The beneficiary schools are, Government High School, Ilorin; Oke-Adini Junior and Senior Secondary School, Ilorin; Government Day Secondary School, Alapa; Ansarul-Islam Secondary School, Ilorinl; Technical School, Ilorin; Baraka Community Secondary Ilorin; LGEA Secondary School, Alapa;Government Day Secondary School Adewole;Magaji Are Secondary School,and Saraki Government Secondary School.

Others that benefited from the library materials includes,Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin;Ilorin Grammar School,(IGS);Government Secondary School Ilorin (GSS);Government Secondary School Afon (GSS); Ansaru-Islam Secondary School, Ogidi, Ilorin; Bukola Saraki Junior Secondary School and many others.
