ADA kits over 70 school pupils in honour of CoS

No fewer than 70 school children of Sholagberu LGEA model primary school, Agbaji in Ilorin West Local Government have been kits with the school bags by Agbaji Development Association on Wednesday last week.
The programme which was held at the school premises was witnessed by the school children, teachers and parents of the school.

Speaking at the event, the National President of Agbaji Development Association, Alhaji Abdulmumini Tayo Moyosore, said the programme was aimed at cushion the effect of hardship on the parents.

He noted that some parents were unable to provide some educational materials for their wards, pointing out that the association and in view of this, the association decided to kits some less privileged pupils to amelorate their sufferings.

He disclosed that the programme was equally organized to honour one of the son and active members of the association, Alhaji Yusuf Babatunde Abdulwahab for his efforts on community development.

Moyosore advised the beneficiaries to resciprocate the association gesture by maintain and use the bags judicially, urging others who are yet to benefit to wait for the next items that would be soon distributed.

He charged them to be obedient to their parents at home and their teachers while at the school for them to be excel on their studies, enjoining the parents always cater for their children educational need.

In his addressed at the programme, the Ilorin West Local Government Educational Secretary, Alhaji Uthman Animasahun, commended the association for deemed it necessary to kits the pupils with intention to assist the lessprivileged in the community.

The LGEA Secretary who was represented at the programme by the Director of Personnel Management of the council, Alhaji Bolaji Ayegun, appealed to the association to extend the gesture to pupils in other schools in Ilorin.

He praised the concern, commitment, dedication and selfless efforts of the association to bring conducive learning environment to the pupils in the community and its environs. He appreciated the state government's education policy on ensuring that primary and secondary education are tuition free throughout the state.

In her appreciation, the Head teachers of the school, Hajia Raliat Ayodeji Imam, commended the present executive members of the association on their effort to improve the standard of education in the community.

She disclosed that the association has given the impression and motivation to encourage the parents and the pupils, stating that over 80 pairs of school Sandals have been distributed among the indigent pupils of school whose parents could not afford one for their wards.

She noted that association has been trying on their best in assisting the parents through its various empowerment programmes, tasked them not to relent on their oars for better improvement on provision of quality education for the future generation.

The H/M however, called on parents and other education stakeholders in the state to assist the governments by making the education a top most priority and spend whatever they have on education.
